Cycle Framework

Daily Cycle vs Weekly Cycle

The same symbol can be in different cycle states on the daily and weekly timeframes. Weekly sets the direction, daily picks the timing — the foundation of multi-timeframe analysis.

Cycles nest inside each other: one weekly-scale uptrend contains several complete daily-scale rises and falls. So “what state is this symbol in” is meaningless until you specify the timeframe — daily flipping to Downtrend while weekly stays in Uptrend is perfectly normal, and it reads as “a pullback within an uptrend.”

Each timeframe has its job. The weekly cycle filters noise and gives the position-level direction; the daily cycle is the sensitive one that times entries and exits. Watching only the daily gets you shaken out by pullbacks; watching only the weekly costs you badly on entry timing.

The classic multi-timeframe play is “trade the small against the large”: when the weekly is in Uptrend, treat daily Downtrend or Bottom range as a buy zone; when the weekly is in Downtrend, daily bounces are for reducing, not chasing. The higher timeframe holds veto power on direction; the lower one executes timing.

CycleMaster maintains both the daily and weekly cycle classifications for every symbol, shown side by side. When both align, trend confidence is at its highest; when they diverge, the system itself distinguishes “higher-timeframe pullback” from “trend reversal risk” — no guesswork required.

FAQ

When daily and weekly disagree, which one wins?

Weekly wins on direction, daily wins on timing. Weekly Uptrend plus daily Downtrend is usually a pullback, not a reversal — unless the daily decline pushes the weekly itself toward a transition, at which point treat it as transition risk. Read both together.

Do short-term traders still need the weekly?

Yes. Even for multi-day holds, the weekly state decides whether you are trading with or against the tide — the same daily setup has a meaningfully higher win rate inside a weekly Uptrend. The higher timeframe is your terrain map.
