The EMA250 is a 250-period exponential moving average — roughly one year of trading days on a daily chart, hence “the yearly line.” It is one of the most widely used dividers between long-term bull and bear structure.
A trading year has about 250 sessions, so the 250-period average on a daily chart is nicknamed the yearly line. An EMA (exponential moving average) weights recent prices more heavily than a simple average, reacting faster with less lag — which is why the EMA250 is a popular long-term trend divider.
The classic interpretation: the yearly line approximates the average cost of everyone who bought over the past year.
